Heroic Teen’s Daring River Rescue: Saves 4 Girls and a Police Officer from Certain Death!

Corion didn’t think twice when he saw a car plunge into the Pascagoula River with three girls inside. The 16-year-old jumped in, ready to put his swimming skills to the test. Little did he know, he’d end up saving four lives that night.

As Corion swam out to the sinking vehicle, he could hear the girls’ desperate cries for help. His friend Karon “KJ” Bradley jumped in too, determined to get everyone to safety. Together, they managed to get the girls onto the car roof, but then Corion noticed someone else in trouble.

Moss Point Police Officer Gary Mercer had arrived on the scene and dove in to help, but he suddenly found himself struggling in the water. Without hesitation, Corion swam over, grabbed the officer, and pulled him back to shore. It was a daring rescue that left everyone in awe.

For Corion, it was simply about doing the right thing. “I was just like, ‘I can’t let none of these folks die. They need to get out the water,’” he later recalled. His quick thinking and bravery saved four lives that night.

The community rallied around their young hero, with the police chief commending his selflessness. “The police department and I commend Corian’s bravery and selflessness he displayed by risking his own safety to help people in danger,” Chief Brandon Ashley stated.
