Kate Hudson Reveals She Could ‘Smell’ Matthew McConaughey ‘From a Mile Away’

Years ago, Matthew McConaughey revealed that during the filming of “Fool’s Gold” in 2008, Kate Hudson made a request related to hygiene.

“She always brought a salt rock, a natural deodorant, and would ask, ‘Would you please use this?’” McConaughey said at the time. “I never used it. No cologne, no deodorant.”

This anecdote resurfaced recently when Hudson appeared on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” Cohen read a viewer’s question asking if it was true that Hudson insisted McConaughey wear deodorant while filming.

Hudson clarified that she didn’t force him, but confirmed that McConaughey doesn’t use deodorant.

“And by the way, neither do I,” she added.

Hudson explained, “I could smell him from a mile away because we were so close. We’re all-natural.”

Hudson and McConaughey also starred together in the 2003 film “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”
