Recently, Keanu has been busy filming his latest project, *Good Fortune*. He appeared on *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert* earlier this week and recounted a story that raised some concerns among his fans.
The 59-year-old actor revealed that he broke his kneecap while filming. Known for his action-packed roles in movies like *The Matrix* and the *John Wick* series, Keanu explained that the injury occurred during a seemingly harmless incident.
Colbert asked, “What happened? Who got to you?”
Keanu responded playfully in a tough guy voice, “No one got to me. Accident got to me.”
Stephen probed further, “Were you jumping from building to building? Doing a cartwheel past razor blades? What were you doing?”
“No, Stephen, I was walking into the dressing room, a room. I’ll tell it quick,” Keanu explained.
He shared that the incident happened while filming a scene for the upcoming comedy *Good Fortune* with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen. The three of them were in a cold plunge, and Keanu was enjoying it. After they finished, he started doing the “cold shuffle” in a room with protective carpets. Unfortunately, his foot got caught in a pocket while doing so.
Keanu stood up to demonstrate what had happened, showing how his knee gave way. “And I spiked. Like, spiked,” he said, mimicking the incident. “Just drove it into the ground.”
“My patella, kneecap, cracked like a potato chip. But I didn’t know that. But then my knee started swelling,” Keanu continued.
“Comedy is hard, man,” Keanu joked.
“This wasn’t an action film with Aziz and Rogen,” Stephen clarified.
“No, it was a comedy,” Keanu confirmed.
“Welcome to my life,” Stephen quipped.
In January, Keanu was spotted filming on crutches with an ice pack on his knee.
*Good Fortune* not only stars Aziz Ansari but also marks his directorial debut. Ansari wrote and co-produced the movie, which also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
