Chiefs Kicker Who Gave Christian Commencement Speech Sees Sales of Gear Skyrocket, Beat Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker recently experienced a significant surge in NFL gear sales, surpassing his teammate Travis Kelce. This spike in sales comes despite the backlash Butker faced after delivering conservative, pro-Christian remarks during his commencement speech at Benedictine College, a Catholic institution.

While conservative fans applauded him, critics from the left condemned his views. In a recent list by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) highlighting the top 50 players with the highest merchandise sales, Butker ranked 11th, just ahead of Kelce at 12th, though both trailed behind star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who had the second highest sales after Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud. During his speech in May, Butker discussed his conservative values, addressing topics like gender roles and the importance of family. He stated, “Many of you may pursue successful careers, but I would guess that most are more excited about your future marriages and children.” He emphasized that his success is rooted in his wife’s support and commitment, framing his comments as a celebration of love rather than a critique of women. Despite the criticism, Butker stood by his remarks, asserting that he intended to convey a message of love and support for all.
