Young girl performs ‘forbidden’ Dolly Parton song on ‘The Voice,’ leaves judges speechless

In 1974, Elvis Presley sought the rights to Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” but she refused, unwilling to give up half of the publishing royalties. Years later, Whitney Houston’s 1992 rendition became a global hit, selling over 20 million copies and topping charts.

In 2013, 13-year-old Austrian Laura Kamhuber wowed judges on The Voice Kids with her flawless performance of the “forbidden song.” German pop star Tim Bendzko joked it was “unsingable” but praised her for nailing it.

Though she didn’t win, Kamhuber’s audition now has 226 million views, making it the most-watched video by an Austrian artist. Performing as Laura Lun today, she has released three albums, with her latest in 2017.

Take a listen to Laura’s spine-tingling audition!
