Flight Attendant Shows Why Your Answer Is Very Important When They Say ‘Hello’ As You Get On Plane

It’s common to see flight attendants greeting each passenger in turn as soon as you board the plane.

Naturally, you’ll want to say hello back, if only for social reasons.

However, there’s more to the flight attendants’ conversation with you than just being polite.

You see, prior to boarding the aircraft, you may have decided to indulge in a drink at the opulent airport bar.

For certain travelers, this means getting extremely tipsy.

Those who typically end up getting thrown off the plane are like the guy who was so drunk that he couldn’t even walk down the steps to disembark.

Everyone on the plane laughed at him the entire time.

It’s better not to come across as blindly drunk because you don’t want to become that man.

Apparently, this is the reason flight attendants greet you as soon as you board the aircraft; they are hoping for a response from you that could reveal whether or not you are intoxicated or ill.

They need to be aware of these things in order to be informed about what’s happening inside that metal tube as it rockets through the sky at breakneck speeds.

Iona Iachim, a flight attendant with Wizz Air, recently made a post about this very subject.

She stated that in addition to welcoming passengers politely, the welcome also serves the purpose of “checking whether or not you are too drunk or sick to fly.”

In addition to citing this as an added incentive to greet passengers at the beginning of the trip, other flight attendants noted this practice.

They explained that it might also help them identify which passengers would be most useful to contact in the event of an emergency.

It allows them some time to rapidly examine you and determine your seat assignment on the aircraft, giving them a general notion of where to search for assistance in the event of an emergency.

You’re probably wrong if you assumed it was because the cabin crew thought you were lovely and unique.

On the other hand, “bob” might be a covert flight attendant code for “best on board” if you hear it.

While others may use conversations about ‘what they want for dinner tonight’ as a subtle code to discuss who they are interested in.

Naturally, you shouldn’t overly flatter yourself and assume that they are talking about you. Additionally, most people don’t want to try flirting at 30,000 feet.

It’s uncomfortable for them, so if you are truly interested, just give them your number when you get off the plane.
