‘The Voice’ Winner Has Been Shot, Airlifted to Hospital

Country singer Jason “Sundance” Head, known for winning season 11 of The Voice in 2016, was involved in a shooting accident on his Texas ranch on November 15, 2024. While retrieving his .22 caliber firearm from his vehicle, the gun accidentally discharged, resulting in a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

At the time of the incident, Head was alone and without his phone. He managed to reach a main road where he flagged down a passing motorist for assistance. Emergency services were contacted, and he was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in Tyler, Texas.

Medical evaluations revealed that the bullet had lodged into his abdominal wall, missing all vital organs. Doctors determined that surgery was unnecessary and decided to leave the bullet in place. His wife, Misty, provided updates on his condition, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and noting that his larger physique may have contributed to the bullet missing critical areas.

Following treatment, Head was released from the hospital and is now recovering at home. Misty shared a photo of his bloodstained shirt on social media, underscoring the seriousness of the incident and their relief at his fortunate outcome.
