Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States and the recipient of the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at his home in Plains, Georgia. Surrounded by family, the beloved leader was 100 years old, making him the longest-lived president in U.S. history.
