Honoring His Enduring MAS*H Legacy

Remembering Patrick Adiarte (1942–2025)

Patrick Adiarte, beloved actor known for his role as Ho‑Jon in the first season of MASH, has passed away at age 82 from complications of pneumonia. His career spanned Broadway, film, and television, beginning with The King and I and continuing with powerful performances that reflected depth, dignity, and compassion.

Born in Hawaii, Adiarte brought heart and humanity to every role—from Prince Chulalongkorn on screen to the gentle orphan in MASH who became a symbol of resilience amid war. Offscreen, he was a kind soul, a mentor, and an advocate for Asian-American representation in the arts.

Though best remembered for a single season of MASH, his impact on fans, colleagues, and the broader cultural landscape remains timeless. Patrick Adiarte’s legacy is one of empathy, grace, and quiet strength.

Rest in peace, Patrick. You will not be forgotten.
