BELOVED ‘MAS*H’ STAR, DIES AT 87 — A LEGACY OF TALENT, COMPASSION & COURAGE

TV icon Loretta Swit, best known for her groundbreaking role as Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan on MASH*, has passed away peacefully at age 87. Her Emmy-winning performance redefined female roles on television and left a lasting cultural imprint.

Swit’s career spanned theater, film, and television, but her passion also extended far beyond the screen. A fierce animal rights activist, she founded the SwitHeart Animal Alliance, tirelessly advocating for animal welfare until her final days.

From her humble roots in New Jersey to global recognition, Swit’s story was one of talent, resilience, and heart. Though she shunned the spotlight in her final years, her legacy lives on through her unforgettable performances and advocacy work.

Per her wishes, there will be no public funeral. Fans are encouraged to honor her by donating to her beloved animal causes.
