DOOMSDAY GLACIER MELTDOWN

Scientists warn Antarctica’s “Doomsday Glacier” is melting faster than expected—and its collapse could flood cities like London, New York, and Bangkok.

Thwaites Glacier holds enough ice to raise sea levels by two feet, but if it fully breaks down, the chain reaction could trigger up to 10 feet of rise, submerging major cities. New research shows hidden lakes beneath the glacier are draining rapidly, “turbo-charging” its retreat. Experts now fear the tipping point may arrive much sooner than predicted, threatening millions worldwide.
