SUPREME COURT SMACKS DOWN CALIFORNIA’S EV MANDATE & BACKS ICE IN DOUBLE RULING SHOCKER

The Supreme Court dealt a blow to California’s climate agenda, ruling 7-2 that fuel producers can sue the EPA over the state’s electric vehicle mandate. Justice Brett Kavanaugh said California’s 2035 EV requirement may be unlawful, calling it heavy-handed regulation. The decision marks a setback for Gov. Gavin Newsom’s push for carbon neutrality.

In a separate 6-3 decision, the Court also backed ICE, allowing agents to resume “roving” sweeps in Los Angeles targeting suspected illegal immigrants. Conservatives argued the tactics were lawful, while liberal justices warned they relied on stereotypes and risked violating constitutional rights.
