Italian actress Claudia Cardinale, who rose to international fame in the 1960s, has died at 87. Known for iconic roles in Once Upon a Time in the West, The Pink Panther, 8½, and The Leopard, Cardinale’s career spanned both Hollywood and European cinema. Born in French Tunisia in 1938, she entered the film world to support her son Patrick after a difficult early pregnancy, quickly establishing herself as one of the era’s most celebrated actresses.
