TRAGIC END TO SEARCH FOR 10-YEAR-OLD DULCE VICTORIA

HEARTBREAK IN SALAMANCA: After two days of intense searching, the body of Dulce Victoria, the 10-year-old who fell into the Lerma River, has been found — ending all hopes of a rescue.

The Salamanca Municipal Government confirmed the discovery on Saturday, expressing deep condolences to Dulce’s family and praising the tireless efforts of emergency responders.

The tragedy began Thursday when Dulce and a young friend were swept into the river while playing. The boy was rescued after clinging to a tree, but Dulce was carried away by the current.

A massive search followed, involving rescue teams from multiple municipalities, dive teams, the Red Cross, firefighters, and civil protection units. Special thanks were given to Liborio Vázquez and the Salamanca Rescue Brigade, whose dedication led to the heartbreaking discovery.

The entire community now mourns the loss of a child gone too soon.
