Jennifer Garner attended her first-ever Comic-Con this weekend to promote Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as the titular heroes.
Reprising her role as Elektra after nearly two decades for the Marvel film, the 52-year-old actress needed a superhero to rescue her at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego on Friday, July 26.
At one point, Garner found herself stuck in an elevator with several other people, which she documented with a series of videos she posted on Instagram on Saturday.
“Hey guys, we’re stuck on this elevator. I could use a Wolverine. I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone,” Garner, 52, shared in the first of seven Instagram selfie clips.
“Yeah, we’re looking for some stairs,” she added with a bit of worry in her voice.
“Thanks for having us here. My first Comic-Con,” she said with a touch of sarcasm to end the first clip.
Sitting down and crouched in the corner of the elevator, Garner provided fans with a follow-up where she remarked on how “toasty” it was inside the small enclosed area.
“Don’t cut the blue wire is what we’re hearing,” she joked to the camera.
Later on, Garner explained that she heard it was better to sit in a broken elevator, claiming she heard that possibly “in an episode of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
By the time they had been stuck in the elevator for just over 40 minutes, Garner began to lead a chant of 99 Bottles of Beer. Within a few more minutes, one of the other people in the elevator was able to call 9-1-1.
