Actor Passes Away at 79

Whitney Rydbeck, the talented actor best known for his role as Roy in “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives,” passed away at 79 due to complications from prostate cancer in hospice care in Chatsworth, California. His death was confirmed by director Tommy McLoughlin, who remembered Rydbeck as a kind-hearted and genuine individual.

Born in Los Angeles, Rydbeck began his acting career in the 1970s, appearing in popular shows like “The Brady Bunch” and “MAS*H” and films such as “Rocky II” and “Love at First Bite.” He also gained recognition as “Larry” the crash test dummy in 1980s seat belt safety PSAs. Rydbeck’s career spanned decades, including appearances in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Murder, She Wrote,” before retiring in 2007 to teach drama at Pasadena City College. His legacy as a talented actor and beloved figure in entertainment will be cherished by fans and colleagues.
