Online Efforts to Identify Blackhawk Helicopter

After a helicopter destroyed a critical aid station in North Carolina, social media users, outraged by the incident, attempted to identify the aircraft and hold the pilot accountable. Initial reports suggested the helicopter belonged to the Connecticut National Guard, but it was later confirmed to be from the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG).

Viral footage showed the black helicopter hovering near the aid site, with its rotor wash causing significant damage to tents and supplies. The NCNG stated that the helicopter was delivering generators when it attempted to land, but aborted due to safety concerns. The incident is under investigation, and the crew has been grounded. The NCNG expressed regret for the mishap and assured they are working with local civilians to assess the damage. Some commenters, including a helicopter pilot, have urged formal complaints and possible legal actions.
